ABOUT — Truly Trust

Where horses are heard, not just treated.

I’m Louisa. And I’ve been exactly where you are right now — feeling frustrated, confused, and deeply concerned about a horse I love dearly.

Early on, I cared for my horses the way most of us do: with love, commitment, and the best intentions. But as time went on, several of them developed health challenges — including chronic laminitis — that left me feeling helpless and overwhelmed. I blamed myself. I wondered if I was failing them.

And for a long time, I didn’t understand why things weren’t getting better.

There were moments when I was told harsh things like “they might need to be euthanised if they don’t improve soon.” Those days were some of the hardest I’ve faced — not because of the pain itself, but because it felt like no one was looking deeper into why it was happening.

That experience changed everything.

It pushed me to ask different questions.

Not just “What’s wrong?” …but “Why is this happening? And what does this horse actually need?”

That search for understanding led me down a road of education, observation, trial and reflection. I dove into holistic approaches — not as a trend, but as a necessity — because the traditional answers weren’t giving me what I needed.

I studied myofunctional therapy, equine psychology, holistic nutrition — and kept learning every day. Along the way, I saw transformations that changed my relationship with my horses, and eventually moved me to help others do the same.

My Philosophy — A Connected, Humane Approach

At Truly Trust Equine, your horse is never a symptom or a checklist.

I believe that everything is interconnected — movement, hoof balance, nutrition, emotional state, environment, behaviour — they are all part of one story. One system, beautifully and wonderfully made. A horse is not a set of problems to be “fixed,” but a whole being that communicates constantly — if we learn to listen.

❌ I don’t teach quick fixes.
❌ I don’t favour one method over understanding the whole picture.
✅ I teach awareness, connection, context, and clarity.

When you work with me, we explore what the horse is telling us — not just what we see on the surface.

What I’m Passionate About

I know how it feels when nothing seems to change, despite your best efforts. I understand how heavy it can be when answers feel incomplete or conflicting. And I know how isolating that can feel.

That’s why I’m devoted to:

helping you understand your horse beyond symptoms

supporting you with education that is practical and accessible

guiding you through thoughtful, measured steps

making each part of this journey easier to navigate

You are not alone — and you don’t need to figure this out in alone.

How I Work

I combine lived experience with continued learning and certification, including:

  • practices in equine myofunctional therapy

  • equine psychology

  • holistic equine nutrition

  • further study in hoof health, zoopharmacognosy, and positive reinforcement training

But beyond qualifications — the heart of this work is respect:
respect for the horse, respect for your experience, and respect for the process of learning and discovery together.

A personal note:
Some of my biggest lessons came from mistakes I made with horses I loved deeply. Those mistakes didn’t break me — they taught me how to listen better. And that’s exactly what I want to help you do too — with compassion, patience, and grounded insight.
