Seeking support for your horse can feel vulnerable.

You may be unsure whether you’re overreacting.
You may feel overwhelmed by conflicting advice.
You may simply want clarity before making another change.

Here I walk you through exactly what to expect.

How a Consultation Works

1. You tell me what's going on. Before we speak, you'll complete a short intake form — your horse's history, what you've already tried, and what's concerning you. This means our time together is focused, not spent catching up.

2. We meet — video call or in-person. Consultations are available online (video call, wherever you're based in the world) or in-person if you're near Bloemfontein. A standard consultation runs 30–60 minutes depending on the consultation.

3. You leave with a plan, not just a conversation. Within 7-14 days, you'll receive a written summary — what I found, why it's likely happening, and clear next steps you can actually act on.

What it costs: Consultations typically range from R250 - R650 per horse / $30 - $120 USD, depending on the type and depth of evaluation.

Common Questions

Do consultations have to be done in person? Do you work internationally?
Many assessments can be done online using photos, videos, and the intake form and is thus available worldwide. In-person options are available when feasible.

Will you tell me exactly what to do?
Yes — guidance is practical and prioritised to meet your horse’s needs without overwhelm.

What if my horse is currently shod?

That’s completely fine. Evaluations can still be performed. Recommendations are always discussed realistically and respectfully.

Do I need to change my farrier?

Not necessarily. The goal is collaboration, not conflict. Where adjustments are suggested, they are explained clearly so you can communicate confidently with your hoof care provider.

What if I’ve already tried barefoot and it didn’t work?

Often transitions fail due to missing pieces — nutrition, environment, trim strategy, or pacing. The evaluation process helps identify those gaps before attempting change again.

How long until I see results?

This depends entirely on your horse’s history, current condition, and the changes implemented. Some improvements are visible within weeks; structural change takes time.

Will I be judged for past decisions?

No.

Every owner makes decisions based on the information available to them at the time. This space is about forward movement, not criticism.

What if I can’t implement everything immediately?

That’s okay. We prioritise. Progress is built gradually.
